- I was working at a Chevy agency in the spring of 1987 when the first Berettas came through. The '87's were almost exclusively for fleet customers to make sure all the glitches were worked out of them before 'regular' customers got their hands on them at the '88 rollout. It worked: The '88 Beretta/Corsica line was one of the most trouble-free launches GM ever had of a car to the general public. I know, since I hardly had a moment's trouble out of the '89 GT I had for nearly a decade until it had well over 100,000 miles on the clock.
Your car is a real beauty - Trophy for sure!

About
Here I have a 1987 Chevrolet Beretta GT. This car has been in my family for over 20 years. I'm trying to get some funds together to restore her and to add some performance to her. Slowly but surely.
History
Made in 1987, she is one of the first batch of Berettas to roll out of the factory. She is currently one of the oldest Beretta still alive.
As far as my knowledge goes, this car was bought by my aunt in '87 or '88 and had it for like a year or so. My aunt is notorious for decimating cars, she ran her into the damn ground, and I guess she wanted to get rid of it. So in '88 or 89, my Dad told her that he'd buy it off of her and take care of the rest of the payments. And so, he bought her fixed her up and took care of her.
When I came into the States back in '92, I was 6, this was the first car I saw. I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. It was this little, bright red, sports coupe. I loved it, and I knew that one day I'd have it.
Then I got my license in '04 and it was still there. After a rebuilt Engine and Trans, my dad handed the keys to me, and I couldn't be happier. The car that I'd wanted since I was a kid was finally mine. This car has been extremely good to my family. She has taken us all over the place, mountains, desert, beach, city, anywhere.

It's Official, She's Alive! (although barely)
Jul 25, 2010
After all kinds of hard work, and my Dad's endless help, he called me a couple of days ago to tell me that she's alive again. YESSSS!! The new 3.1 is in and running. Right now it's idling kinda rough, but we found it was due to a leak in the intake. I'd...
New Motor!

So I had just fixed up the Beretta, cleaned it, prepped it and my wife and I were of to our wedding ceremony. She was running great the whole day. On our way back from the ceremony and the reception, the engine started ticking louder and louder. We got home...
