This was my 1988 Reg cab long bed Ranger I owned a few years back. A friend owned it though high school and I rescued it out of his back yard some years later. I drove it for awhile as a back up vehicle and then decided I would make a low buck V8 project out of it.
Originally a 2.9L V6 5spd, I swapped in a 5.0L V8 from a Crown Vic. Before I put the motor in I swapped a set of E7TE heads to up the power a bit. I used the AOD from the Vic and used a B&M Mega Shifter inside the truck.
Everything electric from the Vic was re-used, computer and all original engine sensors. It was a great running truck and I drove it for a long time until I sold it.
