1989 Chevrolet Beretta GT (The beast)
Last updated Aug 24, 2006
The Beretta was my first car. I got the Beretta November First 2003. I received the car from my Grandma who was selling it at the time. I drove four hours to go pick it up.
The Beretta is powered by a 130hp (crank) 2.8liter V6 engine. The engine is in the Gm 60 degree V6 family. It has a single overhead cam, and puts out 160lb ft of torque stock. My Berettas engine was mated to a three speed automatic transmission. Suspension is struts in the front and shocks in the back.
This car was pretty much barebones although it did have power steering, AC, a cassete player and power steering.
Once I had the car I began to rip into the suspension. I added a Z51 rear swaybar, a strut tower brace off of a Cavalier Z24, Strut to radiator core support bars from a turbo Grandprix, a lower subframe brace from another Cavalier and a custom made shock tower brace that I purchased from the Admin of Corsicas.com I rounded all of the suspension out with some KYB Gr-2 Struts. The stereo was two Infinity Reference series 10" thousand watt subs, a pair of Rockford Fosgate 6x9s speakers in the rear deck, a pair of Pioneer 4t speakers in the dash and a Pansasonic headunit. All of the wiring was Rockford Fosgate. the interior had some GTZ seats in it.
