1989 Ford Mustang GT (The Convertible)
Last updated Sep 8, 2011
I love this old car. I returned to work after a very rough couple of years including a divorce, unemployment, and plenty of other related fun. My new boss, who also happens to be an old friend, practically gave me the car. Let's just say the newly rebuilt transmission (less than 250 mi. on it) cost him $200 more than I bought the car for. Of course the top is beat, so the interior has suffered as well. The car runs like new and the body and paint are surprisingly nice with the exception of some minor dings and plastic problems.
Mustang GT Convertible, 5.0L V8, AOD Trans
As far as I can tell, this car came with about every option Ford offered that year. Convertible, AOD, 2 tone Regatta Blue and Silver paint, A/C, full power seats with lumbar and knee support (I have never seen this before, but damn it's comfortable), premium 6 speaker sound, white leather, impossible to replace blue plastic and carpet, power mirrors, power windows, power door locks, etc. It even has this cool ashtray cover, but, yeah . . . .
Came with a BBK intake. The rest is a nice, blank canvas. I plan on a very mild build: external engine mods mostly (maybe a cam someday but I doubt it), exhaust, headers, upgraded ignition and maybe a tuner. This old boat needs some serious help in the suspension department. Thinking about a 1" drop and adjustable shocks.
