1989 Trans-Am Pontiac Pace Car (Karma)
Last updated Mar 3, 2013
This is the newest car added to our garage. Back in November of 2012 we took a 16hr ride round trip from Louisiana to Texas so our new baby can have a home. We don't have many pictures of her yet butI'll add the ones I have so far. This is the second TTA owned. The first was unfortunately sold and a promise was made to replace the car one day. She has been named Karma because good things do come to those who wait. It took 13 years to be able to have another and the wait was worth it.
1989 20Th Anniversary Trans Am, Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. Festival car #124 and track #96. The second number was issued to her as she was one of the 150 sent to the Indianapolis 500. Legendary Buick 3.8 Ltr Turbo (GNX infuenced), 2004R auto transmission, 1LE brake package, 9 bolt Austrailian Rear wth 3.27 gears, full 3' exhaust. Engine specifically modified by PAS Inc. for the this package. Rated for 250 HP but actually made over 300 due to Pontiac heads instead of Buick (installed by factory). 1/4 mile time rated in 13.40 range, 0-60 4.4 seconds but actual times were a little quicker, top speed approx 165 mph. 1st pace car that didn't have to be modified to pace the field and is considered one the fastest Trans Ams produced.
FULL power options from the GTA lineup, Cloth interior on this one, Head rest on rear seats for Anniversary Cars only and factory boost gage on dash, T-Tops and the Leather Box Collector case. Indy Wings on lower ground effects with the Turbo Fender badges along with special nose and tailight bagdes signify this to be a 20th Anny car. Even if all of that is removed 1G5 on the vin and a 7 for the vin engine code tells the world who she really is.
No modifications! except tinted windows.
