1991 Porsche 944 S3 (944S3)
Last updated Oct 10, 2010
I bought this when my first Porsche, a 1987 944 with 318K+ miles on the odo suffered terminal cascading electrical failure. The following three days, I swapped the transaxle (LSD), the rear shocks/helper springs, and the 968 M030 sway bars form the old car. The next Sunday, it was entered in the PCA LPR Concours and took 1st place in class.
The following year, it won its class at the National PCA Parade in both Concours and Autocross.
Since then, I've upgraded the cylinder head/intake and DME to those of 968 and upgraded to the front springs to 350# on the M030 struts, replaced the clutch with a Centerforce Dual Friction unit and upgraded the front bakes to M030 (928S4) calipers/rotors.
