1998 Ford Mustang GT-350 (Roxanne)
Last updated Apr 30, 2007
I bought Roxanne new in February 1998. She wasn't stock for very long, four months in fact. I added the Cobra hood, nose and tail then the Cobra R tires & rims. Summer of '99 bought the CDC side exhaust and side scoops. Summer of 2002 was the addition of the Shelby side and LeMans stripes. Along the way I've added a Mac cold air intake and 70mm throttle body, pulleys, K&N air filter, X-pipe and 3.73 rearend gears.
Right now she is daily tranportation for me from Lincoln to Omaha so she gets a little over 600 miles a week in commuter miles. I've just hit the 100,000 mile mark on her and she still looks better than most newer ponies.
She's won several 1st place trophies at Car Shows and a Best of Show Paint a couple years ago in Columbus. She is also Autocrossed in SCCA and in Colorado's Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup.
Where'd "Roxanne" come from? I get asked this a lot. It's not my wife's name. We were coming back from the Show in Colorado and talking to our fellow Mustang Club members over the two-way radios. The ladies were trying to come up with names for some of the cars on the trip. Roxanne came on the radio and it just stuck. When Americruise comes through Lincoln and everyone is on the cruise route, we would get stopped by a spectator and they'd belt out a verse or two of the song. Sometimes it is pretty entertaining.
