I once detailed a year old, 15,000 mile Caprice that was traded in with the ashtray absolutely overflowing. The burgundy carpet under the ashtray was gray from all the ashes dumped on it, and thre were several burn holes in the velour upholstery. You've heard the old joke about the rich guy who traded in his Cadillacs whenever their ashtrays got full - This guy waited a bit longer but never bothered emptying the ashtray. Your car is DEFINITELY better than that one was. I spent about 6 hours on that interior just getting it clean enough that it didn't smell like a chimney. All the upholstery, the headliner, and the carpet reeked of cigarette smoke, and all the vinyl, glass, and plastic were coated with tar residue. The exterior wasn't much better, since the guy seemed to have liked parking under trees. It was covered with sap and marks in the paint from bird droppings that I had to wet sand and compound out. Worst thing of all was that I was working flat rate, figured on an average of 4 hours per car... It was NOT a pleasant day!
