Wow! Great weather here in the Vegas Valley. Mary and I are getting ready to start, and drive all of our rides today. I may half to hold off on the T Bucket as I still see a very small leak and I will fix it before driving the car as I do not want any oils getting on the drive train or the body.

We still have the front yard to do but we want to take the day off from yard work.

Take care,
Jerry

Raining here in the Vegas Valley today. I see great weather coming the rest of the week. Planning on starting on the rides the latter part of the week. I hope to make a big dent on the front yard area tomorrow and for sure on Tuesday.
Our dog Peewee seems like he will make it another summer. He has gone from the vet wanting to put him down to having a scratching problem that we have to watch him for. I guess it is good Mary and I are able to stay home with our dogs a lot or take them with us. I guess being able to afford Peewees vet bills and medicines helps him to.

I have been hanging around Motortopia for about 9 months and Mary and I really enjoy the site a great deal. We like the people and the site has improved a great deal in that time frame. I sure hope David and the team keep making this great site even better.

Take care,
Jerry

Joke of the day
Amy,  a blonde city girl, marries a Colorado rancher.  One morning, on  his way out to check on the cows, the rancher says
to Amy,  "The   insemination man is coming over to impregnate one of our  cows today.  I  drove a nail into the 2 by 4 just above the cow's stall in  the barn.   You show him where the cow is when he gets here,  OK?"

The rancher leaves for the fields.  After a  while, the artificial insemination man  arrives and knocks on the front door..

Amy takes him  down to the barn.  They walk along the row of cows  and  when she  sees the nail, she tells him, "This is the one...right  here."

The man, assuming he is dealing with an airhead  blonde, asks, "Tell me lady, cause I'm   dying to know.....how would YOU know this is the cow to be  bred?"

"That's  simple. By the nail over its stall," Amy explains very confidently.

Laughing  rudely at her, the man says, "And what, pray tell, is the nail  for?"

The blonde turns to walk away, and says sweetly  over her shoulder, I guess it's to hang your pants  on.."

Back yard is finished and ready for spring fun! I looked again at the front and I only see (hopefully) a couple days work at most so we are on our way.

I have so many plans for this year. I will tell you something about our Prowler. We own several nice rides and have owned many others. This Prowler is so well done... I just love the lines, the motorcycle fenders on the front that turn with the wheels, the aluminum body, I think to date in its unique way the Prowler is better then anything else we have had. (I have to admit that very little maintainance is a factor at this point in our life).

I cannnot tell you in words how happy we are that spring has sprung around our house. I hope to spend the entire spring and summer at shows and working in the garage.

Wishing everyone the best,
Jerry

Pool is looking crystal clear. Only have to clean the filter twice per year in stead of once permonth. The back yard needs today and it will be ready for spring. I will be so happy to have that done.

We ordered this Magicjack and will get phone servied for $10.00 per year for five years because we signed up for the extension. Our friend has it and raves about it. You get call waiting, forwarding, all that stuff plus long distance and local calling all for $10.00 per year. The phone number they give you stays with you no matter where you move too. If interested take a look here http://www.ma...m/1/index.asp and see if you need it.

Joke of the day!

The Local Strip Club

Because Dave works hard at the plant and spends most evenings bowling or playing basketball at the gym, his wife thinks he is pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she takes him to a local strip club.

The doorman at the club greets them and says, ''Hey, Dave! How ya doin?'' His wife is puzzled and asks if he's been to this club before. ''Oh no,'' says Dave. ''He's on my bowling team.''

When they are seated, a waitress asks Dave if he'd like his usual Budweiser. His wife is becoming uncomfortable and says, ''You must come here a lot for that woman to know you drink Budweiser.'' ''No, honey, she's in the Ladies Bowling League. We share lanes with them.'' A stripper comes over to their table and throws her arms around Dave. ''Hi, Davey,'' she says, ''Want your usual table dance?''

Dave's wife, now furious, grabs her purse and storms out of the club. Dave follows and spots her getting into a cab. Before she can slam the door, he jumps in beside her and she starts screaming at him.

The cabby turns his head and says, ''Looks like you picked up a real doozie this time, Dave!''

New Pool filter installed! Well, we finally got the new filter and managed to install it. I had hoped to get something else done yesterday along with the filter but it was not in the cards. We had to get one of the light weight cement slabs as the new filter would not fit where the old filter had been. I will be honest ,it took longer then I thought it would, however, it did not leak or drip so I feel lucky, very lucky.

Today I hope to finish up most of the planters and clean and hose down the patio furniture and the patio. I just want to get everything in the back yard done. The front yard as far as I know does not need much and I think I can finish it in two days.... so we are making big progress.

Take care,
Jerry

Man, Woman, Sleeping Compartment

A man and a woman who have never met before find themselves in the same sleeping carriage of a train. After the initial embarrassment they both go to sleep, the woman on the top bunk, the man on the lower.

In the middle of the night the woman leans over, wakes the man and says, "I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm awfully cold and I was wondering if you could possibly get me another blanket."

The man leans out and, with a glint in his eye, says, "I've got a better idea... just for tonight, let's pretend we're married."

The woman thinks for a moment. "Why not," she giggles.

"Great," he replies, "Get your own damn blanket!"

We have taken six loads of cut up branches and plant trimmings to the dump and the poor trash guys have hauled many large trash cans away. I had to hastily move the rest out of the way so I could get the new pool filter system into the back yard. I hope I will have the new system installed by the end of the day.

I want to play with our rides so bad but I feel I should finish getting the yards and pool ready for the spring and summer.

In a hurry? I posted two blog's that both said Sunday! LOL getting old I guess.

Yesterday I found out that Tom (BuiltElcamino) has a very cool site where he sells wheels, I mean lots and lots of very cool looking wheels. If anyone wants to take a look it is here http://www.tm...formance.com/ Tom is a very nice guy.

Well after buying a new filter insert for the pool filter it seems we are going to half to replace the whole filter. It is a 1978 model that is way too small for the pool by todays standards but the biggest problem is we cannot get parts for it any longer. We will install one that is three times bigger, it is called something like "clean and sparkle". We have been cleaning out the filter area all morning as the new filter unit is much larger then the old one.

I guess our day is cut out for us with the new filter and still cleaning out flower beds. I want to get this stuff behind me so we can start going to shows in one week. Working our butt off but making a little progress.

Take care,
Jerry

Joke of the Day!

Shipwrecked

A young wife, her boorish husband and a young good looking sailor were shipwrecked on an island. One morning, the sailor climbed a tall coconut tree and yelled, "Stop making love down there!"

"What's the matter with you?" the husband said when the sailor climbed down. '"We weren't making love."

"Sorry," said the sailor, "From up there it looked like you were."

Every morning thereafter, the sailor scaled the same tree and yelled the same thing. Finally the husband decided to climb the tree and see for himself. With great difficulty, he made his way to the top.

The husband says to himself, "By golly he's right! It DOES look like they're making love down there!"

Great shopping day at Harbor Freight tent sale. We thought it might have blown away but it was still going on when we arrived. Mary started shopping under the tent before I managed to get out of the car but I caught up. We really just purchased some small items, a new set of cast iron skillets 3 for $6.99, some fixed alarms to put on a couple of windows at home that are not alarmed at night, some new screw drivers because they were there, and lots of other small items.

At the pool store we purchased new supplies for this year as we are in the process of getting the pool ready for the year. Now about Costco. We are retired and have no reason to go to Costco on a Sunday. Going there was a very stupid thing and they were so crowded I could hardly get down the isles. We did do some shopping and we had a hotdog for lunch while we were there (love costco hot dogs).

The Hamster Show

A guy walks into a bar and asks the bartender if he will give him a free beer if he shows him something amazing. The bartender agrees, so the guys pulls out a hamster, who begins dancing and singing "Tuff Enuff" by the Fabulous Thunderbirds. "That IS amazing!" says the bartender and gives the guy his free beer.

"If I show you something else amazing, will you give me another beer?" The bartender agrees, so the guy pulls out a small piano and a hamster and a frog. Now the hamster plays the piano while the frog dances and sings "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

The bartender, completely wowed, gives him another beer. A man in a suit, who's been watching the entire time, offers to buy the frog for a princely sum, which the man agrees to.

"Are you nuts?" asks the bartender. "You could've made a fortune off that frog."

"Can you keep a secret?" asks the man. "The hamster's a ventriloquist."

TGIS Thank God it's Sunday. Harbor Freight here I come. I hope the parking lot sale did not blow away as we had some terrific winds last night. We just need a few items but I bet we find a car full of stuff to buy. It just works out that way with parking lot sales.

I did manage to get all the trees trimmed and several plants trimmed also. We have lots more to do and we will likely buy some new plants today after we go to Harbor Freight (my favorite place to shop). I actually hope to go by the nursery, Costco, Walmart, and Harbor Freight today.

Wow what a day we had yesterday. I should watch what I promise to do before going to Harbor Freight on Sunday.
As I said yesterday I had promised Mary I would trim the trees and do the pool filter (it has to be cleaned several times while trimming the trees from all the junk that gets in the pool) and clean up.

I have put up a little photo album if you care to take a look. Hoping to finish it up (for the most part) today.

One of my grandsons who is stationed out side of the United States and several of his buddies visit and actually read my blog daily. Hello Grandson.

We are having very nice weather today in the Las Vegas valley so I'm sure I will be able to work on the garage today. Will get some photos if I do.

A couple of people suggested I rerun yesterdays Blog as it was not on the board long. It is always nice to hear someone is reading so here it is:

Friends! Mary and I have made so many friends through Motortopia. I find it astounding that something called the "World Wide Web" could turn out to be what is has become. Who would have thought back in 1979 that we could sit in our home and exchange ideas with people all over the world? I will not get into listing names as there are way to many and I would miss some, but, I want to thank every person on our friends list, and all the people that are not there and should be. We truly live in an age of miracles and the miracle of making friends without leaving your home is certainly part of that miracle.

Mary just brought me back to reality by looking over my shoulder and saying "we better put salt in the water softener today" so I better let this go for now as I am going to move all the cars out of the drive way and the garage to look for the missing parts. OH, and you can bet I will put salt in the softener.

Yesterday turned out to be too windy to get anything done outside or in the garage. Nice temperature but too much junk in the air to breathe with the bug Mary and I have had.

Complaint #16 (I hate winter). I'm so glad to see all the signs of spring. No big freezes here so all our plants just need trimmed back and we will have almost instant flowers. I do have to trim the date palms as I did not trim them at the end of the year.

Mary and I hope to get around to a lot more car meets this year. The Prowler is easier to drive and has dependable air etc so that will help.

Hope to get some work done in the garage today. Weather is supposed to be great (maybe some wind) with the temperature in the high seventies.

I do have some parts that are some where in the garage hiding from me. I will have to back all the cars out to look around. I need a bigger garage of more garages.

Mary is making breakfast and as soon as we finish eating it is out to the garage we go. I have two flat tires on the 56 Chevy truck and I am pretty sure some kids let the air out of them but I might have to pull them off the rims and clean them up to get the tires to seal again as they have been flat for a couple days now.

We are going to Veterans Park in Boulder City today and get some photos of the Prowler. I hope they come out better then the ones I have taken to date.

Strangers on a Train

A scientist gets on a train to go to New York. His cabin also has a poor farmer in it. To pass the time the scientist decides to play a game with the guy.

"I will ask you a question and if you get it wrong, you have to pay me one dollar. Then you ask me a question, and if I get it wrong, you get ten dollars. You ask me a question first." The farmer thinks for a while.

"I know. What has three legs, takes ten hours to climb up a palm tree, and ten seconds to get back down?" The scientist is confused and thinks long and hard about the question. Finally, the train ride is coming to an end. As it pulls into the station, the scientist takes out ten dollars and gives it to the farmer.

"I don''t know. What has three legs, takes ten hours to get up a palm tree and ten seconds to get back down?"

The farmer takes the ten dollars and puts it into his pocket. He then takes out one dollar and hands it to the scientist.

"I don''t know."

  Sex Therapy - Florida Style

A Florida couple, both well into their 80s, go to a sex therapist's office.

The doctor asks, "What can I do for you?"

The man says, "Will you watch us have sexual intercourse?"

The doctor raises both eyebrows, but he is so amazed that such an elderly couple is asking for sexual advice that he agrees.

When the couple finishes, the doctor says, "There's absolutely nothing wrong with the way you have intercourse." He thanks them for coming, he wishes them good luck, he charges them $50 and he says goodbye.

The next week, however, the couple returns and asks the sex therapist to watch again. The sex therapist is a bit puzzled, but agrees.

This happens several weeks in a row. The couple makes an appointment, has intercourse with no problems, pays the doctor, then leave.

Finally, after 5 or 6 weeks of this routine, the doctor says, "I'm sorry, but I have to ask. Just what are you trying to find out?"

The old man says, "We're not trying to find out anything. She's married and we can't go to her house. I'm married and we can't go to my house. The Holiday Inn charges $98. The Hilton charges $139. We do it here for $50, and I get $43 back from Medicare...!

Wow we had such a great day yesterday! I paid a small price for being outside working as I had a bad cough last night but feel pretty good today. Life goes on and I will wash the Firebird today. It needs it and I hate seeing it dirty. As I said in an earlier post our garage door seal is missing in a small area and lots of dust blew into the garage through that small area of missing seal.

Washing cars in this weather is not too bad for me as I never use a hose for anything except filling the bucket with water. I never use soap and I NEVER go to a regular car wash with my rods.

We are going to stay in today because of the wind and my bug. I really need to start and drive the rides but good weather is right around the corner so I guess I better put it off for a few days.

Mary is cooking Bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and biscuits because my appetite has returned this am. We eat pretty good around Mary's kitchen and when we go out for dinner I enjoy Mary not having to do any work, but I know the meal will not be as good as it is when we eat at home.

We are looking forward to Super Tuesday so the political thing can be solved at this juncture (I have to admit it has been interesting).

Joke of the day!

Wise Old Man

A wise old gentleman retired and purchased a modest home near a junior high school. He spent the first few weeks of his retirement in peace and contentment. Then a new school year began. The very next afternoon three young boys, full of youthful, after-school enthusiasm, came down his street, beating merrily on every trash can they encountered. The crashing percussion continued day after day, until finally the wise old man decided it was time to take some action. The next afternoon, he walked out to meet the young percussionists as they banged their way down the street. Stopping them, he said, "You kids are a lot of fun. I like to see you express your exuberance like that. In fact, I used to do the same thing when I was your age. Will you do me a favor? I'll give you each a dollar if you'll promise to come around every day and do your thing."

The kids were elated and continued to do a bang-up job on the trashcans.

After a few days, the old-timer greeted the kids again, but this time he had a sad smile on his face. "This recession's really putting a big dent in my income," he told them. "From now on, I'll only be able to pay you 50 cents to beat on the cans."

The noisemakers were obviously displeased, but they accepted his offer and continued their afternoon ruckus. A few days later, the wily retiree approached them again as they drummed their way down the street.

"Look," he said, "I haven't received my Social Security check yet, so I'm not going to be able to give you more than 25 cents. Will that be okay?"

"A freakin' quarter?" the drum leader exclaimed. "If you think we're going to waste our time, beating these cans around for a quarter, you're nuts! No way, dude. We quit!" And the old man enjoyed peace and serenity for the rest of his days.

Knight Rider! Watched the whole two hours. Liked the link between the commercials and the show. I think those in love with their Pontiacs might not like the show. I admit it is aimed at a much younger audience, and written by someone that thinks the 60's is antique. I really enjoyed the show. Sure the writers have to make those improvements that only come with time but I really liked the show.

I admit to being a caraholic but remember I own a Firebird, I really liked the look of the Mustang as Kitt and will continue to watch the show. Of course Mary and I are entered in the contest (someone has to win the car) and we would welcome the ride big time if we won.

I, like most of us am really looking forward to spring and getting out doors. We have had it with winter and want to go to some car meets and shows with out getting cold.

I have found many items I want to order for the Prowler but I am looking around as they are all very pricey. The ProwlerStore.com has some of the items I want but Ouch! are they pricey. If anyone knows of a source please let me know.
