About
Ever since I saw Smokey and the Bandit I have said I would own a brand spanking new Trans Am one day. Of course in 2001 Pontiac announced they were stopping production of them, so I was running out of time. There was an internet buzz in June of 2001 about the Collector Edition Trans Am. Pontiac was going to release one last special car for the 35th anniversary of the Firebird, and this was the vehicle they chose. Pontiac created 2390 of these vehicles total (2000 for the US), 549 of which were 6-speed convertibles. This car is number 204 of 2390. The cars came in exclusive "Collector Yellow" with only three options; Hurst short-throw shifter, CD changer, and traction control, all three of which were ordered on this vehicle. Since December 11, 2001 when the car arrived, we have put just over 5000 miles on it (and, yes, it's very hard to not drive this vehicle).
