- I had thought about the idea of a 2008+ MAXX myself, to the point of doing some sketches of what I thought it should look like. I liked what I came up with. Apparently the 2004-07 MAXX wasn't a big enough seller for GM to be able to justify the cost of engineering the new model.

- These are great cars. I just wish Chevy had kept the Maxx idea going with the next generation of Malibu. I would have bought one instead of my sedan (If they offered it in the LTZ version)

About
This is actually my wife Rose's car, and it's shown in her garage too (see MAXXINE), but since she doesn't hang out on Motortopia much anymore I thought it was time to show the car off in my garage too. It has over 65,000 miles on it, but I try to keep after it both mechanically and cosmetically and I like to think it shows. It's never let us down and it looks like a much newer car. The paint and upholstery still look like new, with the exception of a couple of minor "this's" and "that's" that any 7 year old car will pick up.
Specs
3.5L V-6
4-speed Automatic transaxle

It's 5-door hatchback sedan design was an exclusive among American cars of it's size. It has more interior room (including 4" more rear seat legroom ) than the Malibu sedan of the same series with a correspondingly longer wheelbase while being 5" shorter in overall length. It's back seats can recline up to 15 degrees from their regular upright position It's standard full-width fixed rear-seat sunroof was unique among all cars available at the time.
