About
Only minor, tasteful trim pieces have been added to the S197's cockpit.Beneath the optional billet shift knob is Steeda's Tri-Ax shifter. As far as the S197 Mustangs are concerned, this is one of the best on the market, as it provides a more precise feel without transferring excessive drivetrain noise into the cabin. The Three-Valve 4.6L powerplant has been mildly upgraded to a claimed 350 hp, thanks to numerous engine mods.Nitto's new Invo tires, sized 275/40/18, worked better than we expected on the autocross course and on the dragstrip. We're pretty sure the 14-inch front and 13-inch rear brakes with front ducting upgrade helped a lot as well. Though our local autocross course is pretty spread out and sees speeds up to 70 mph, we hammered the stop pedal all day and never experienced any fade whatsoever, and the ABS allowed us to take advantage of the increased stopping power.Q335 Number One received the 14-inch front-brake option in addition to the brake ducts seen here. Combined, the duo provided us with a consistent pedal and stopping distances throughout our high-speed autocross runs.running a 13.24, a 13.25, and finally a 13.22. Our best 60-foot time of the day on the Nitto Invo rubber was 1.98 seconds.
