long car, but Babe was coming in a couple of years, so they were getting longer. Remember those old wagons, they held a lot of bags and kids.

Dad;s first car was '41 Chevy, dark green sedan. Didn't look as sporty as this one, of course. He had many people who wanted to buy it during the war years, since no cars were being made. I think there were a few '42s and that was it.

Some guy that worked with Dad had one of these. Very fast, he once drove a guy who missed his call to work on a train and he sped the guy down the line to catch up with the crew. It was a wild ride from what Dad heard, but the guy got him there in one piece.

I had that happen one time when I went to annual Easter show at Forest Park, I didn't register but just parked on the street. People stopped to take a pic of Babe and talk to me. So we felt like we were an addition to the show.

It was straight from a line in the movie Christine: "She could be fixed up. She could. Oh, she could be really tough!"

It was the width of those tires are that gave me the biggest clue, Terry O.

Hard to say for sure from this picture, but the wheels and tires are certainly not original equipment. Gone are the huge whitewalls and hub caps.

Wow, very nice and a rare find. I know they made a couple different editions of the sporty wagons in 57, the 1957 Buick Special Riviera 4 door hardtop station and 1957 Buick Caballero Estate hardtop station wagon.

With the exception of the flame job, they look pretty much nicely original.
