1986 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 (Badass Number 2)
Last updated Nov 1, 2008
I got this as a Christmas present. Yeah I know it sounds like a lot, but it sure needed a lot of work when I first got it...it had an engine fire when the wiring on the car apparently disintegrated and ignited a fuel line or something. So all the wiring under the hood had to be replaced along with anything else made of plastic, and it had to have a lot of cleaning done to it. It is still not yet road worthy yet, I hope to have it going by Christmas this year.
Z51 Package Corvette (Early Iron Heads):
~330 Ft/lbs TQ
Performance Gear ratios (Over 3:1 I think)
Z51 Suspension and handling package.
Its got about all the factory options you could get except being a convertible. The nicest to me is the Z51 handling package which apparently makes the car absolutely incredible on the track, and the performance gear ratio package. But other than that it came with a bunch of other crap including leather seats and the delco-bose radio.
I am atleast going to get the car going before I try and mod it but here are some planned mods:
TKO 5060 or T-56 Transmission (since automatics are boring.)
Free flow exhaust replacement from the headers back.
Edelbock TPI Adapter manifold for Vortec to TPI
Big Mouth TPI Runner
Port and Polish on the Plenum
Cold Air Intake
Megasquirt Engine Management
A lumpy Compcams TPI Cam
Higher Ratio Rear end.
Oh yeah since I have to repaint in, its going to get a big white stripe up the middle and a couple red stripes on the drivers side, in the same style as a 1996 Grand Sport.
