About
I am the original owner of this car...bought it from Bob Banning Plymouth in Hyattsville, Md on June 9, 1970 after negociating a $300 trade-in on my '66 MG 1100. It now has 117K miles, 14K on the engine, which is a Mopar A block.360 CID from a '74 Polara. It has a Direct Connection cam, factory cast-iron exhaust (headers just didn't work out) and a Holley Pro-Jection kit that totally changed the car's personality. I also swapped in a 3.23:1 Sure Grip. It's been a long time since I ran it through the lights. It ran 16.66 @ 94+ MPH at sea-level. It was painted Lincoln Continental Jade Green in 1997 and I put a new vinyl top on it last year.
I almost bought a Ford Maverick, but the Ford dealer refused to take my sad little MG in trade. Lucky me!
It was a "territory car" for the first 3 years I had it, carrying tools and parts for the typewriters and computers/printers i serviced for 20 years at IBM in Washington, DC and later Denver.
I actually bought the car twice once from the Plymouth dealer, once from my ex. Plenty worth it! It still goes like a bat and handles better than my '94 Mark VIII.
Factory Options
A/C, power steering, manual disc front brakes, black vinyl top (sooooo 1970) semi divided seat, all vinyl interior (new carpet and seat upholstery last year) rallye wheels, Torqueflite 904. I added a hood-mounted tach the week after I bought the car.
Mods
340 exhaust manifolds, DC cam and rockers, Holley Pro-Jection
Extra loud horn! Mopar Ivy Green was too dull so it's Lincoln Jade Green now. Really looks sharp with the black vinyl top and black rallye wheels
