1967 Triumph TR4A (Tractor)

Last updated Jan 29, 2007

Photo of a 1967 Triumph TR4A (Tractor)

1967 TR4a Live Rear Axle, Triumph Racing Green.

I bought this car in September of 2006. I am the 4th owner and it has been in Georiga for 37 of its 40 years. It was originally Signal Red but has been professionaly repaited Triumph Racing Green at some point. The frame has no rust on it and the engine is in good running order. I don't plan on doing much restoration to the car as it really doesn't need it. Just some tuning up and maybe a new paint job in the next year and it should be good to go for the next 40 years!

The live rear axle option is pretty rare on a TR4a. Triumph introduced Independent Rear Suspension (I.R.S as noted on most TR4a) for the TR4a but US dealers where not sold on it. So Triumph reworked the rear suspension to fit the live rear axle. It was a US only option. Estimates have the Live Rear Axle option only being delivered on about 25% of all US cars. This makes the TR4a Live Rear Axle cars one of the most rare Triumph cars. Only the TR8 and one yeay only TR5 would be built in smaller numbers.

Great Weekend for a drive

Plans for the TR4a
