About “California Born”
Car was built in California and sold off a dearership Med. Turg. and the owner painted the car red and it stayed in California till 1987. It was bought for $2200 and was drove back to Cleveland, TN. Were it sit until we bought it at a swap meet in June 2004. We stripped all the paint off and primed it. Then put five different colors of green and one color of silver as a temperary paint until we put the original color back on it.
We pulled the motor and transmission and put new gaskets, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, new carberator, and the original valve covers and breathers back on it. The engine did not need to be rebuilt it was in good running condition when we bought it. Replaced all the seals in the rear housing.
Replaced all the dash knobs and instrument cover. New wiper and head light switches.
Then we cleaned it up and started driving it!!!
