About “Rusty ll”

This was a 1965 Falcon Futura convertible purchased in 1970 off of a Chrysler dealers used car lot. The problem with cars back then was no matter what they were all they all got winter driven and this one was not any different. I remember walking down a Toronto street in 1974 going to a New Years party and seeing ahead of me a large spoiler. When I came up on it there was a Superbird connected to it with a sh..load of slush hanging under it rusting the body out.
The Falcon obviously had body work and a repaint to get it looking good and I was seduced by the aqua paint and 289 engine.
Some bits of rust began to appear within a few months, the automatic started to slip and the heater never really worked too well in the convertibles back then so I jumped out of the pan into the fire so to speak and punished myself by purchasing a MG Midget!
The little Falcon was a very quick car and I have had several since because of that. These cars weigh under 2500 pounds and my current Ranchero is even lighter than the hardtop version.
