Head to Head

About “Daily Driver SS”

Blue on blue, '78 Corvette Rally wheels, Flowmaster 40s, 350 swap, Long way to completion. I have out-dragged a lighter Z28 Camaro in this car when I had the 305, same engine, gearing gets this big beast rolling.

About “Camaro”

I bought this F-Bod, after my first was totaled about three weeks into it's ownership. Smooth, fun ride that gets the best of both worlds. Cheap on gas and insurance, with sexy looks and good performance.

Specs for “Daily Driver SS”

'71 El Camino 350 with Acell ignition upgrades. Factory rated at 250HP/350LB-FTs with a two barrel carb, but everyone knows how engines were underrated back in those days. With ignition upgrades, long tube headers, and the air gap intake, i'm guessing 300HP/400LB-FTs going off the factory rating. I've been told i'm being conservative on that number. 215/65R15 and 275/60R15 BF Goodrich tires, More to come.

Specs for “Camaro”

3800 V6
200 HP stock (Not Dynoed with mods)
Automatic

Mods for “Daily Driver SS”

350 Swap, Jet Hot coated Hooker long tube headers with a X-pipe and Flowmaster 40 mufflers dumped before the axle, Accel Super Coil and cut-to-length plug wires providing 40% more spark, Edelbrock Performer Air Gap Intake, Holley 670cfm Street Avenger carb, Moroso drop base air cleaner, and dual electric two-speed fans. Complete front end rebuild with 3" OPG drop springs.

A/C, cruise, and emissions delete. Yep, shes a polluter! No CAT, no pump, nothing. I reccommend anyone with an old V8 car to do this, taking off the cat really makes it sound like a muscle car.
