About “Rust and Cream”
my go kart. I run this in Adult Open/RWYB classes in Nebraska and Kansas. I have won 4 Track titles in my career. Competition is crazy in this class. I have run against flathead 5hp briggs' bored .120 with tilletsons, animal motors my dad has built, 2 strokes, and vanguards. It's as fun as one can want. I have a blast in it
About “Massey Ferguson”
Acquired: 2003
This was my dad's tractor that I inherited. It's not a car (no, really!), but it is a great vehicle. Awesome to drive, and probably the only vehicle so far on this site with a PTO or a three point hitch. I also have a Ferguson back blade for it.
I've thought about restoring this machine, but it has a very nice patina, and I think a fresh paint job would take away a lot of its character.
In today's world of airconditioned, GPS controlled cultivation systems, this is a gentleman's tractor.
Resto update:
We built a new house in 2006-7 and it has a 300' crushed limestone driveway. No way am I using a snowblower on that! So in went the Massey for some overdue maintenance. Just a few things like a rebuilt motor; reworked head; rebuilt carb, starter, generator; new radiator, clutch, ring gear, water pump; oh, and why not a paint job? I'm sorry to lose the patina, but with the engine rebuild, at least part of it was going to be painted, and it wouldn't look right with a shiny motor and a weathered everything else. Eventually, it'll get that look back, because I own it to use it.
