About “Old Glory”
This was my first "official" car. I purchased it in 2001 for school/work. I bought it because it was the only economy v6 4-door domestic vehicle I liked the look of. I also liked the auto-stick feature a lot and mine came with a factory upgraded speakers/amp.
I found Stratusphere.net and became interested in doing mods. I really enjoyed the fact that in '95-'98 these cars were killers in Super Touring. I became interested in the SCCA and started Solo2 and Rallycross racing. I loved the fact that I was competing with a "grocery getter" but was holding my own. I am finally able afford performance part and have started to mod in way that keep me legal for Solo racing. I started the year strong but due to a car wreck and neck injury I missed 3/4 of the racing season. I have a 2nd Stratus I'm in the process of purchasing which will be gutted and raced in SCCA Club Racing hopefully towards the middle of 2007.
Everything I have done to the car is for a purpose and to stay within the rules of SCCA Solo STS classification. I try to keep cosmetic features to a minimal. My goal is to equally maximize performance with comfort. You will not see the interior gutted or excessive cosmetic mods on the outside.
You won't see racing seats, a big wing, fake scoops, forced induction, or carbon fiber hood/deck lid or other body panels. A little more power wouldn't hurt but I have little to gain from it in what I do. Suspension and handeling is everything.
*UPDATE*
