About “Back To Nature”
Ever since I was a little girl I loved to go camping. We would hitch up my Uncle Jimmy's Airstream trailer and head off to some distant campground for the weekend. Ever since then I wanted a camper of my own. My husband CorvairJim made that dream come true for me, but a lot smaller than I expected! I like pop-up trailers, so he made me a model of a pop-up slide-in camper rig. He designed it himself and built it from scratch to fit a Chevy pickup model he had on his shelf waiting to be built. I told him what colors I wanted it to be and he took it from there. If you look closely, you'll see he hid the separation line where the top part rises from the main camper where the colors meet. There's a telescopic ladder on the back to make it easy to climb onto the roof so we can watch NASCAR races from there while parked in the infield. I think Jim designed the air conditioning unit to do double duty as a drink and snack table!
(The model is shown in it's picture with the Mazda Miata model Jim also made for me. I figure that'll be the car we tow along behind the camper when we go long distances. The license plate in the background is part of Jim's collection of license plates. Our last initial is an "E", so the plate is me, "MRS JE"!)

The truck has everything available for a full luxury pickup 20+ years ago. The camper body didn't come from a factory, so I guess everything in it is standard equipment!
