About “Blue Steel”
The car is a 1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Landua Sport. I have had owned this car since it was given to me as my High School Graduation gift in 1984 and have driven over 250,000 miles in that time. The interior was recently re-upholstered, a white face gauge kit and a Pioneer in dash tuner/CD player was installed and yes the windows are tinted blue with all work done myself. The engine is currently a modified version of the original 305 LG4 that has been dressed up with Chevrolet Chrome valve covers and breather along with a true steel braided hose kit.

About “Maria”
its my baby i yanked the engine in the begining of last summer before the car was even mine. it was my brothers for about three years. we decided to park it one day (because the rear brake line rotted out) and tear it apart. by the end of the summer i bought the pile of parts off him for about $600. i began putting the front clip back on and asembling the engine and what not. the picture posted is of the car before i bought it, iwill post new ones soon!
Specs for “Blue Steel”
The original engine was re-freshed at 200,000 miles; the camshaft is a HO 350 factory cam from a Z-28 which gives the engine a little better performance with no drivability issues. A high volume melling oil pump replaced the stock unit to improve the low RPM oil flow. The stock heads were shaved .020 and the block decked .010 raising compression just shy of 10-1 along with a new three angle valve job, seals keepers and springs. The cylinders were bored .030 over with new oversized flat top pistons and a new GM performance aluminum intake was installed. The original rochester carb rests on top of a 1 inch aluminum carb spacer. The exhaust exits trough the factory manifolds but the rest of the exhaust system is a custom job featuring 2.5 inch pipes, a dual in, dual out catalytic converter, Dynomax Turbo mufflers and dual chrome tips. The transmission is a 350 Turbo Automatic with a Trans-dapt shift kit while in the rear is a set of 3.42 gears. The car rides on 14 inch American Racing Slotted Aluminum wheels with BF Goodrich TA Radials planting everything to the ground. The car is very streetable and was driven coast to coast twice a couple years back. The paint is electric blue metallic with a black vinyl top and gold pin stripes.

Mods for “Blue Steel”
A one piece smoked removable sunroof was installed shortly after I purchased the car in 1984. The slotted aluminum wheels were purchased for a grand total of $25, cleaned up and put on the car replacing the boring wire wheel covers that came on the car originally. The car was repainted electric blue metallic from the original factory silver due to the paint job fading and peeling (typical for GM silver in late 70 early 80's). The front and rear seats are out of a '85 Grand Prix and were swapped out nearly 10 years ago to replace the old boring 60/40 power bench seat because these seats recline and the originals did not. The seats bolted right in place and the driver’s power seat used the same connections as the original power bench. I also installed the floor shifter and console from a donor Monte at that time along with the new steering column minus the column shifter and a Grant GT steering wheel. The original cruise control was removed and replaced with a solid state constant speed unit and had an alarm system installed, with all components hidden inside fender wells. I updated the car somewhat with a close ratio steering box as well as a complete poly bushing kit front and rear, gas shocks all the way around, new rear springs and had the factory trailing arms boxed. The rear swar bar (F41) was increased from 7/8 to 1 inch in size while the front remained stock at 1 3/8. I recently re-upholstered the interior in Madrid blue velour (seats, door panels, headliner, sunvisors, console lid, and seat belt guides) installed new black moulded carpet, replaced all seatbelts with blue belts instead of the old dirty ragged grey ones, replaced the lower door panel carpeting on both doors, installed 5 1/4 inch Pioneer door speakers in the lower panels, re-upholstered the rear deck panel and added the third brake light from another GM "G-Body" car with new 6x9 Pioneer speakers, installed a white face gauge kit and a Pioneer in dash tuner/CD player was installed and yes the windows are tinted blue with all work done myself. The chin spoiler is from a late 80's full sized chevy truck that was cut down in the center to fit.
Engine mods are listed under specs.
