2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue GX
1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon 442
Head to Head
This was my grandmother's car that I acquired in 2008. She didn't really take care of it but it was garage kept, so it stayed away from any hard deterioration. I take care of it to the best of my ability, keeping it shiny and intact. I hit a deer in 2010 and paid $2,000 to have most of the front replaced by a local company that knew my family. She also had a factory defect involving the camshaft that caused her to break down twice, but that has since been resolved (to my knowledge). And as of May 2013, I have a freshly rebuilt transmission!
About “Olds 442”
We had been searching for one of these for a while, a true numbers matching Vin 9 442. They were always well out of my price range. We found this on in DE and although it needed work, it was less than my price range. We took a drive down and boy did it need work - it wasn't even drivable. But we bought it and towed it back to NJ. We re-did all the brakes and lines, got the engine working and did all the maintenance, and re-assembled the interior. I fixed the dash cluster which didn't work, and re-did the electrical system. We finished up the bodywork not too long ago so it will be re-painted in the spring.
