Food Channel celebrity chef Guy Fieri is usually seen behind the wheel of a Camaro on his hit show, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Truth be told, though, he’s actually a diesel enthusiast. Here’s he showing off his customized Kodiak, which features a spiced-up interior, lifted suspension, custom rims (not duallys) and a modified Duramax, juiced up with an aftermarket computer chip. He likes to use it for family RV outings, but asked what he hauls, he had a one-word reply: “ass.”
Fieri’s gift for off-hand quips like these is a hallmark of his TV shows on the Food Channel, along with NBC’s new game show, Minute to Win It. In addition to numerous specials and appearances on other shows, Guy recently elevated American food culture to new heights by combining the worlds of food and rock ‘n roll. “The Guy Fieri Road Show,” produced by his company, Knuckle Sandwich, toured 21 cities in 30 days.
Another aspect of Guy’s TV appearances often mentioned by his fans is his engaging personality, paired with a bad boy-image. Despite the heavy-metal tattoos, spiked hair and chunky jewelry, he’s a doting family man. He also does charity work and volunteers for entertaining the troops by inspiring military culinary specialists.
But he’s not all talk and charm, as demonstrated by deftly stirring the shifter and mashing the throttle on his big Kodiak. After all, Guy is known for making real food for real people, so why would he do anything less in a high-performance diesel? –Steve Temple
SCT Performance has signed with NADM as the official Ford Tuner/Programmer sponsor for the 2010 season. This endorsed product sponsorship is not awarded lightly since NADM asks its members to test each product for reliability.
