The Sigma Short Shift kit from dieselgeek.com is a billet aluminum replacement for the stock shifter.

We specifically purchased a manual transmission-equipped TDI for the strength and reliability over their automatic counterparts, but that doesn’t mean there is no room for improvement. To many VW drivers (including us), the long shift throws from the factory setup seem like they would be better suited for a domestic truck than a German sport sedan. (more…)

NADM at National Trail Raceway

Among the cornfields of the Midwest sits National Trail Raceway, a NHRA-sanctioned facility that is rich in drag racing history.

Opened in 1964, the drag strip has had the legends of drag racing make passes down its famed quarter-mile of asphalt. Name such as Don “the Snake” Prudhomme and Don Garlits, as well as famed racers the Hurst Hemi Under Glass and Little Red Wagon, have all raced at the facility just outside of Hebron, Ohio. Top Fuel Champion Tony Schumacher set a national speed record of 336.15 mph on this track, as well. (more…)
