Heres......... Ruby!!!!!

Bought car with 173000 miles on it now has close to 195000. Only things Ive done are HU,speakers,SL2 driver seat, 15custom painted with glitter steel wheels. Also have done lots of maintnince and replacing of parts, car is slow as slow can be but its helped me learn clutch and the GF learn clutch too so thats great. AC still blows ice cold, car still shines up great and gets great MPG too. I would love a SL2 or SC2 or even SW2 with a 5 speed though as a SOHC Saturn is just a dog when it come to accelerating.

Misc work getting done

By donjuan

So the Tbird is getting there slowly but surely. Drain plug gasket in the rear of motor was leaking after I gave it a rushed oil change, GF fixed that. Then we hit up the JY in Bmore MD and got a used but fine trunk weatherstripping to hold in our stereo safely. Also got front windscreen weatherstripping too and snapped that in. Then got misc interior pieces which were missing, they still need put in. The Saturn got a fresh oil change, new head unit kit to make it cleaner and nicer, and a JY console trim piece which was cut out with old HU kit. Also had my coolant return hose fixed after it was leaking for awhile. So all in all the winter projects are done and new summer ones are in order. We now need to figure out how to get our amp and woofer to work in the Tbird, then fix or replace dented panels, then sand down and paint it all. Saturn has a worn clutch pressure plate Im sure and will be in a sell or trade state soon I think. Im tired of it anyhow, great car just too slow and boring for my taste.

New battery!!!!

So it now has a fresh new battery instead of the old way too small battery that was in it. Now I just need to score a battery tie down from a local boneyard and it'll be factory fresh ... well kind of,lol.

So I hit the train tracks....HARD

But luckily it actually turned out to be a good thing unlike with my G20. It had a bad rattling sound after I hit so I figured exhaust, I went hoe and next day woke up extra early to go to local muffler shop. They noticed a few small leaks and lots of band aid welds on old exhaust. I got new piping installed and two sexy stainless steel tips poking out the back for a total of $265 I aint mad.

Synthetic oil change

By donjuan

So took car into my job Saturday morning and was lucky enough to do an oil change on it after I clocked out. I had a mechanic friend put car on lift and help me locate a socket to fit drain plugs, yes plural, lol. I then removed oil filter which was cheapie Fram Orange one Yuck. Oil was extremly black and most likely way overdue, but now its full Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic 5W 30 in it with Motorcraft Filter, so Im happy and car does run a good bit better now.

New stuff done

By donjuan

Well one thing... lol I used screws I got from local Ford dealer and screwed down our center armrest/storage lid on tight it had come undone and was relegated to backseat duty, lol. But it was actually kinda tough to do sadly, I had to prethread the holes with screws because it was messed up from non factory correct screws in it from before. But yeah thats done now on to much bigger things.

1993 Ford Thunderbird project AKA " Bird Of War"

By donjuan

So I traded my Grand Caravan on this on Tuesday, it had 18X9 inch Chrome Cobra R wheels, large billet spacers on it with BALD rear tires. I then on first night of owning it found a factory wheel set about an hour drive away, scooped them up for $100. Then went the next day found four new Goodyear Integrity tires for $293 out the door ummounted. I work for new car dealer so I had the hook up on mounting and balancing, $30 for that. So now car rides wayyyyy better and has way less unsprung weight. I also have removed a dumbass Monster energy drink sticker in back window, gave car good vaccuming, cleaned windows in and out outside with rain X window cleaner. So today we bought oil filter wrench cap style, Motorcraft filter, two new drain plugs, Pennzoil Platinum synthetic 5W 30. Dealer sold use clips to keep headlight secure along with interior screws that are needed and oil filter for like $7. Today car got fresh rain X wipers and we had our mechanic friend replace a tired out serpentine belt also. Lots more coming for sure we appreciate help/advice so comment please its a lot of typing for no body to read this lol.
