Orange Sunrise Rotary’s Annual Hot Rodding Effort to Benefit YMCA of Orange

Within the hot rodding and custom car community there are several events held to benefit the lives of others, and the annual Orange Plaza Car Show is one of those events. Hosted by Orange Sunrise Rotary Club, this year marked the 17th annual event with proceeds going to the YMCA of Orange, Youth Literacy and Education Programs.

The morning of Sunday, April 17, the Circle of Orange was alive with rumbling hot rods, pavement-pounding muscle cars, low slung pickups and tail-dragging customs all on display. More than 440 pre-‘75 vehicles filled the streets of downtown Orange for a collection of sights and sounds to put your hot rodding senses on overload. Spectators could wander the show for free, and with several vendors displaying their latest wares there was sure to be a little scratch leaving pockets. Whatever your flavor of automotive expression, the Orange Plaza Car Show has it with paint, chrome and horsepower from the 1920s -70s. The local businesses in the area featured several antique shops and eateries packed with traffic from the show.
