It may have been the off season for sun worshipers but don’t tell that to the thousands that showed up for the 1st Annual Surf City USA Classic Car Show, held Nov. 13, 2010, adjacent to the historic Huntington Beach pier.

Promoted by Darryl Nance of D&P Classic Chevrolet and long time beach resident, Nance wanted to include all of the things that are dear to him, cool cars and honoring Veterans Day. There was even a section where toys were being collected for the Toys for Tots program. Talk about multi-tasking!

In true SoCal style, the weather was perfect, and though there weren’t many on hand who were thinking of taking a dip in the ocean, there was a huge number of vehicles in attendance. Nance must have talked nicely to the HB city council for them to allow him to hold the event in the parking lot literally at the corner of PCH and Beach Blvd.

If this is only the first of many shows to come, then we think that the 2nd Annual Surf City USA Classic Car Show is one that we are definitely going to hit. If you love custom cars, the Huntington Beach pier and an all around great day, you’ll be there, too.
