The Coffin Muffler® is a very versatile and extremely effective product. Not only does it fit in almost any automobile application, it will fit pickups, tractors and nearly any other application you can dream up. It also works well with diesels, both cars and pickups.
The inside design of the coffin muffler allows engines to make more torque and more horsepower, yet still increasing fuel economy-all at the same time. the muffler is able to do this by freeing up the OEM (Original Equipment Manufactured), exhaust system. Basically it’s like the difference between blowing through a plastic straw and blowing through a garden hose; which one do you think allows air to escape faster and with less effort? All this results in longer engine life, snappier throttle responds, better fuel economy, and yes that aggressive sound we all love. A lot of people turn their heads on such products, until they hear about better fuel economy, in other words, saving money, gas, and the environment, everyone can do their part! The Coffin Muffler is a simple and affordable product almost anyone can reap benifits from.

The introduction of an all-new carburetor, especially in this millennium, has become increasingly rare. But Demon Carburetion has done just that. Named the 625 Street Demon, it is engineered for hot rods with stock to mildly modified engines.
In appearance, its cast aluminum construction exhibits smooth and flowing contours and in operation it accommodates either square- or spread-bore-pattern intake manifolds without adapters. It’s an easy replacement for any street four-barrel.
Developed from clean-sheet beginnings, the Street Demon features two potent 1-3/8in primary throttle bores, which contain triple-stack boost venturii. Two of the boosters are suspended across the bores in the conventional way; the third is neatly integrated into the throttle bore walls. Their purpose is calculated to produce superior fuel emulsification, to present crisp throttle response and drivability, and to provide pleasing fuel economy.
At the top of secondary bores a torsion spring-controlled air valve resides. Its function is to ensure seamless primary-to-secondary throttle response, regardless of the throttle opening rate. Its two distinctive, sloping contours are engineered for efficient cylinder-to-cylinder fuel distribution. Torsion spring adjustment of the valve is controlled by a screw on the end of its shaft axis.
At the bottom of the secondary bores a goggle valve (GVS™) resides. This innovative device delivers over twice the air flow of the primary bores, with an effect that can be both felt and heard.
The Street Demon’s fuel bowl, which is integrated with the main body, is available in either aluminum or an exclusive automotive-spec polymer. The polymer bowl demonstrates impressive hot-weather drivability and faster hot restarts by reducing heat transfer to the fuel by as much as 20 degrees Fahrenheit. To eliminate all potential leaks the bowl is devoid of plugged passages and the bowl gasket is placed above the fuel level.
A single fuel inlet ensures simple installation and two-stage metering rods accommodate most tuning requirements, without carburetor disassembly or removal. For cold starting, a proven electric-assist bimetal coil choke is provided.
Street Demons are available in three forms: all aluminum tumble-burnished, tumble-burnished with polymer fuel bowl, and all aluminum hand polished. Prices are $349.99, $379.99 and $449.99 respectively.

Justice Brothers Gas Treatment Protects Against Ethanol Damage
In 2010, the EPA allowed gasoline manufacturers to blend 15 percent ethanol (E15) into gas to be used by late-model cars. Ethanol is basically a mixture of ethyl and alcohol. The main problem with this type of blended gasoline is that the ethanol mixture will separate from the gasoline over time, causing a moisture buildup (water) in the fuel tank. The presence of water can result in corrosion, resin/gum buildup, hard starting, reduced performance and possibly internal engine damage. (more…)
Fun for a Cause
Before this year’s Mac Tools U.S. Nationals we hosted our John Force Racing Summer Car Show at our Brownsburg, Indiana, shop. It was a great event, and once again, fans got to see hundreds of cool muscle cars and hot rods. It was hot on Thursday, but we had fans at the shop starting at noon even though we officially got started at 3 p.m. The crowds that walked through our shop were amazing. (more…)
Since it was initiated by Steve Gibbs and coined by Greg Sharp, Cacklefest has entered the hot rod lexicon and vintage race cars are being restored, recreated and fired up all around the globe. For example, at the recent Prolong Twilight Cruise at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, Gibbs and volunteer event coordinator John Duran assembled more than 20 nitro-burning diggers as a preview of the amazing Cacklefest planned for this year’s California Hot Rod Reunion presented by Automobile Club of Southern California.
