Hi, my dad has a 1990 v6 supercharged cougar that has started acting up. It will be running and idleing fine then all of a sudden the tachometer will drop to zero and it will nearly die, idle rough, and sometimes will die. Sometimes you can cut the car off and its like it resets itself and runs fine and then sometimes it will do the same thing. I dont know what exactly it all does but i know he said it can be runnign fien then the tach will drop to zero and it wont hardly run at all. If you have any information or have heard of this happenign b4 or know how to fix it pls help us if you can. Thank you for your time and reading this.

sounds like and electrical problem check and make sure all your batt cables are tight and clean, if thats not the case id check all the plugwires, coilpacks, sparkplugs. if the sparkplugs have never been changed its time for a new set 4 sure...
