Sorry to ask but can tou get a 402 motor in a big block and a small block?

402 is a .30 over 396, Chevy put them in some cars in the early 70s as 402s,I think they actually called them 400s. There is also a 400 small block that was produced from 70 or 71 to 76. Both were available in the same models. Hope this helps!

Thanks alot i was not too sure i just bought myself a 69 Camaro with a newly re biult 402 instaled, got it shipped over last week .It seems fast , just want to run it in first, Cheers

The 402 is a big block,I have one in my 78 camaro.The 400 is a small block.Hope this helps. -
