Hi all,
I've done quite a bit of research and found a few locations used in the film.
Including "texarkana" where the coors beer warehouse was, the square where Bandit hid behind the building from the police at night time.
I am pretty sure I have found the bridge that was jumped, and the hickory house restaurant location (restaurant closed down, but others are open).
I also found the bar where snowman drove over the motorcyles.
I have some info that the house snowman lived in is no longer there. It's unconfirmed.
I have some pics of the places I've found if anyone is interested.

I live in Georgia also and alot of the movie was filmed 20 minutes from my house. I know where and have pictures of all the below. I am also working on the movie location tour that is scheduled for Sunday the 20th. We can't see everything, but will probably hit the main ones in Fayetteville and Jonesboro, maybe McDonough, depending on time and the amount of interest. I have already talked with the members of the Historical Society in Jonesboro and will give updates soon. they might do something special for us. I am bringing on the convoy actual pictures of all the below plus rare pictures, magazine clips and copies of all the actual maps used by Universal Studios when they filmed the movie. Their maps literally have the scenes marked on them by description and scene number. I also have a movie script book so you can look up scene numbers and read the original script (what is written is different from the movie). I got all of this from the Georgia Archives. I thought we could look at this stuff at night at the motels. I hope this helps. . . Tyler
Between Fayetteville and Jonesboro, Georgia:
Where Snowman’s house was (torn down)
Branford’s roadblock
Texarkana, Texas (in the movie) Where the ‘Coor’s warehouse was
Cop in backwards lake (first chase scene in the movie)
Where the Bandit picked up Frog
Lake where Fred went swimming
The bridge that Bandit jumped over
Knocking down mailboxes scene
Where Buford said, “What we’re dealing with here is a total lack of respect”
Where Buford lost his roof
Car in ditch and Buford argues with Alabama cop
Where the Bus stop scene was filmed (Bandit tried to dump Frog)
Where ‘Foxy Lady’ parked her RV
Near Lithonia, Georgia:
Football field that Frog drove thru
Funeral scene with the ‘grave robber’ and Buford had to wait
Near Helen, Georgia:
A little pond hopping? Scene (Bandit drives the TA in a creek and also where Buford lost his car door)
You ready Roy? Scene (first chase in Alabama where the Bandit gets around cops)
The bridge where Bandit and Frog kissed (the bridge has been rebuilt)
Near Conyers, Ga.
Where the Drive In was (torn down). Where Hot Pants worked ‘dishing it out’
Near McDonough, Ga.
Snowman’s Fight Bar
Where Bandit hid behind a building (torn down) at night in the beginning of the movieGod Bless, Tyler

Wow Tyler, you found alot more than I did. I contacted the Georgia film commission and they had no info for me.
I would love to buy copies of what you have for my personal use.
I also found the location where the funeral procession blocked Buford. It is near stone mountain.
I'm not sure how I can post the pictures I have on this post. I have some good pics of nearly the same angle comparisons from the movie, then and now.
Tyler, let me know if I can make a deal with you. I'll make it worth your while.
I live in Tampa, FL.

Yes, the grave scene was near Stone Mountain. The school in the background is Redan School. A lady who works for me went to that school and she remembers the school bus going a different route because they were filming the movie that day. . .wild isn't it? actually the street sign is in the movie. if you zoom in you can read the sign. The football field that they drove throught is on Phillips road in Redan park which is less than 1/2 mile away from the school. Again, I'm bringing copies of everything with me to the Bandit Run. Come on the movie tour with us on Sunday and stand in the spot where the Bandit's Trans Am burned out when he picked up Carrie. Better yet, do a burn out yourself in the same spot. leave your "mark" in Georgia. The movie tour is posted on the front page of this website. The Yahoo road map will be posted soon. I'd also love to see the pictures you guys have of the location. I just got my 81 T/A out of paint and body and I'm not sure if it's going to be finished in time to make the run. I'm planning on registering for the run but as of right now not sure if I'm going to make it the whole way. Please! Please! Please!
email me any of the pictures you guys might have. I think the script book would be awesome to have how did you get it and is there other copy's out there?
