They haven't named a host hotel yet. I will let you know when they do so.
Thanks,

I called Mark Parrett today and he told me that there are about 4 or 5 hotels around that area but I don't think there will be a "host" hotel this year. It's basically up to us any of which is good for me. I just want to be with the majority. He told me some are cheaper than others because of the off-season. So I guess we need to take a vote. Has anybody done any research on any of the surrounding hotels from the fairgrounds? -

I just booked 2 double rooms at the Fairfield Inn and Suites at Eglin AFB, Shalimar. It is 6 miles from the NW FL Fairgrounds. There seemed to be plenty of rooms if anyone else is interested. The closest Hampton Inn was 8 miles away so I went with the Marriott Property. Rooms were cheap also at $66 per night on the Marriott website.
Hope to see everyone there. We will work on getting a place to meet and I will attempt to bring a projector for the laptop so we can share stories and photos from the Bandit Run 08 and NATS (although I didn't go to NATS this year).
See you at STARS!!!!!
Ron

If you trailer the Trans Am, it won't use any gas, right?...uh, wait...there's something wrong about that line of logic...
Seriously, the way I look at it, high priced gasoline is here to stay. I think it's a safe bet that the days of cheap oil are permanently over and the price of fuel will continue to follow the simple economic rule of supply and demand--upwards.
I'm going to tune the '76, add a free-flowing dual exhaust system, put helium in the tires, and keep it out of warp drive in order to maximize mileage.
Other issues may interfere with my ability to make the trip (read:the demands of work), but as of now I'm still marking my calendar.

We are def. going to try to make it. I am going to go ahead and try to reserve a room now. Gary wants to bring the 76 TA, but not sure yet.
