You say you have spark and fuel timing. Define fuel timing.

Question. Do you have fuel pressure? are the injectors firing?

Is the ignition timing correct. Does it try to fire or not.
    Describe what it is doing.

    First things first.
What engine is this on? I assume it is the inline 6. turbo? do you have any screen shots of your settings that we can see?

I may not be much help, but I have MS&S on my vg30et. It is up and running just fine. We may be able to compare some notes.

I have screen shots of my settings on the Hybridz.org forums in the megasquirt sub forum. There is a ton of information and guys sharing their settings in that forum.

    Scott.

Hi zr8ted, Iam on hybridz. Funny thing is Iam following your lower valence built the car is looking nice.
The car is a 71 240z and the motor is an l28et recently rebuilt. MS2 2.88 code. now running EDIS. Everything checks out but sometimes its hard to get a timing light reading. Cause of two reason EDIS + a combination of Magnecor wires that supress it hard. The other its simply not running the timing gun sees it better on a running car.

The car is at the "tuner" who people around Ottawa say he knows hasnt got it running. I did manage to get it running and idling nice.

But it fouls ups all the time. Even with my Ve lowered. or req fuel . Wierd thing is it ran exactly like this before the rebuild on the stock eccs computer. But that would start and idle just wasnt strong. I believe your fuel maps would be almost identical since alot of guys use the z31 ecu and now with nistune! too beautiful (maybe thats the route I should have went. Its costing allot now with ms2 thwn a harness, sensors, tps, edis wires/coil/vr sensor/ bla bla bla. Is there guys in the Tdot that know ms? I really need this done. THe car is cursed Iam telling you! PLus this tuner did BS's allot. The cars never left my house for 4 years and thats why I dont like taking it to people; its also I pride thing. But I said hey I'll give it a shot.

    p.s. heres video http://www.yo...v=WTY0yN4ReWk

It's hard to tell anything from that vid. It looks like a Still camera with video capability was used to film that, which if that's the case, the mics on small cameras like that usually pick up sounds that sound like problems, due to being exagerated.

The reason I wrote that lengthy first paragraph is as a disclaimer. The Video sounds like the firing order is off. But that could just be the mic picking up on a certain sound I hear.

Anyway. I know how you feel, sort of, I've had vehicles in my posetion that haveing ran in years, but that's usually because I haven't been working on them.

I'm not a fan of MS, for reasons similar to what you're posting here, while it is a good electronics project, I don't see it as a reliable EMS. Too many band aids needed in some vehicles (later model that uses electronic speedos, or PCM controlled gauge clusters require adaptors or retaining of the original PCM), No VSS input, means no speed controlled variables, such as Speed sensitive boost control, or TCC lock up, E-fan control (E-fan not needed above about 25 MPH), among many other uses for knowing vehicle speed. I know there have been some "successful" installations, I've also heard of many less than sucessful installations as well.ooked at using the MS a few times, but with all the improvements they've made to it, it's still always lacking something that I want, most notably the VSS input, and ability to use such information. Lack of limp home mode is also something that keeps me from using it, and just all the stories I read like this.

Getting to another point, a guy I know is planning to open a shop soon that specializes in this type of conversion. I will be working with him, if it goes through. We are planning to be open in September. He has many years of experiance doing some insane swaps (Viper driveline into Dakota!) and more mild ones, such as EFI swapping his '70 (I think it is) Olds Cutlass with a built 455. Myself I have a number of years experiance swapping EFI systems, and turbocharging engines.

Currently I have my '73 240Z, with an N/A '81 or '82 (came in the car) 2.8L, turbocharged, and running from a GM ECM. Well, currently it's in the garage apart, for upgrades, which should have been completed months ago, but due to people wanting me to work on thier projects I've had to put mine on the back burner. I have this weekend almost finished the swap to DIS (Used GM parts again), just need to finish some wiring, re-install the rad and a few other items then get back to driving it. biggrin image

Sorry to get off topic and talk about this guy I know and myself, but if you want your car running, and running right, myself and this guy I know are the guys you want to do it. Honestly, the MS would probably be the first thing to go, but you would get it back running cherry.

PM me if you are interested.
