About EHMIG’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
I grew up like most guys my age. I had a hundred Hot Wheels in the mid 70's. I had pictures of cars all over my bedroom walls in the 80's. In the 90's I was able to start buying the real things. Although in college the first part of the 90's, I still managed to have a pretty cool car. It was a 1989 Camaro RS. It was a crappy V-6, but it had a 5-speed, making it a fun car to drive. I put wheels and tires on it in 1991. I also added the stereo system that same year. Rockford Fosgate was big back then and I had two 10's in the back. You could hear me coming a mile away. Chicks dug it. I wanted to rebuild something and at the time 67-72 Chevy trucks were getting popular at shows. I bought a 1972 C/10 stepside with a 250cid straight six and the bed was so rusted I almost lost it driving over a railroad crossing on the way home. My future ex-father-in-law and I spent two years off and on fixing it up and taking it to shows. I miss that truck and my ex-father-in-law. Notice I didn't say anything about the ex-wife.
From 1997 to 2004 I was pretty quiet about cars. I started my own business and only had trucks. Late 2004 I decided to buy a sports car to drive on weekends. After looking at several cars in my $10k price range I chose a 1998 Trans Am with 62K miles. I have many things I'd like to do to this car but life always seems to get in the way, and the fact that I bought my first motorcycle last summer. Anyway, I love cars and enjoy being around anyone with the same passion. I love talking to car nuts, I always seem to learn something.

My first car
1976 Trans Am. I was fifteen. I still can't believe my mom let me buy it. It needed a lot of work and working at McDonald's didn't make enough to feed the 400 big block. I had it only about 18 months.
Car I wish I still had
1972 Chevy C/10 Stepside. I put my heart in rebuilding this truck. I sold it at a car show in order to purchase my first investment property in 1997.
My dream car
1967 Corvette Convertible, two tops, 427-435 hp, 4 speed, side exhaust, numbers match with the original factory body/trim tag. Sunfire Yellow paint with Black stinger, Black interior, and Black soft top. Body-off restored in show-show-show condition. $169,000.00 - $210,000.00
