About me and my passion for cars

My passion for cars was kick started just after birth. My father was an old school hot rodder and circle track / drag racer. His addiction to speed was genetically transferred to me. I have owned cars from nearly every genre, with the exception of superexotica because no one will give me a Ferrari. I am deeply involved with supporting the Grassroots Motorsports $200X.00 Challenges. I feel they are an excellent place for car guys of all types to get together to build a car only limited by budget and lack of creativity.

My dream car

My Merkur with a 4.2L V6, a Holset turbo, complete poly suspension setup, coil over conversion front with custom tubular lower control arms, Modified tubular IRS rear with coil overs. The color will be the same dark pewter that is on the Tampa Bay Bucaneer helmets. Wheels will be Ford Racing Focus Euro SVTs painted a sand gold color running 245/45r17, the fenders mildly bulged to fit the tires in under full compression. While the interior will be "gutted" it will not be spartan. Dark tan lightweight carpet minus deadener and padding will adorn the floors as well as interior panels along with a ligther sandstone leather that accents the seats and lower halves of the interior. The remaining interior panels will be painted radar absorbing flat black. The dashboard will be similar to original appearances but be completely hand built, Autometer gauges will keep track of vital functions. A Bowling and Grippo Megasquirt setup will control the ignition and injection functions for the 430 horsepower combination. A Tremec six speed will keep the right arm muscles in shape by acting as an impromptu rowing macine for city drives. A Euro Sierra front clip will cause most purists to stop and look while the Cosworth hood will help to keep the turbos fed with fresh cool air.
