About MuscleCarManiac’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
I love all types of cars though I lean toward GM since that's
what my Dad drove. I've had both old a new fords (Have a
1989 5.0 LX Coupe and had a 1970 Mach 1 351 4bbl, 4spd).
Have had GTO's (2 1970's about three years apart)
One '69 Firebird Sprint 6 - Neat car, very rare had the factory 4bbl and dual exhaust and 3 spd manual
1971 Camaro RS 350 2bbl, 4spd
1970 Monte Carlo
1967 VW Square back wagon
1982 VW Scirroco
1974 Vega Wagon
1977 Corvette
1966 396 El Camino (4spd, buckets, console, factory gauges)
1965 Sunbeam Tiger
1986 Suzuki Samuari
1989 Mustang 5.0 LX (Still have)
1970 Mach 1
1966 Corvette Coupe (Completely numbers matching from carb
to rear end!)
1972 Nova SS 350
2001 Camaro SS (Still have)
1973 Hurst/Olds (Still have)
This is kind of in order. I tell all my car friends, since I can't
afford to have all the cars I've always wanted at the same time,
I'm working my way through them. Unfortunately, I'm out of
work and need to sell both the Camaro and the H/O until I
can get re-employed.
I haven't had a Mopar yet, but I hope to someday own either a
69 Charger R/T or a 68 GTX. I still want both a 66 and/or 69
GTO since theze were cars friends of my older had back
in the late 60's/early 70's.
I've been a car nut as long as I can remember. Ever since I
was 9 or ten, I remember being able to tell the make model and
year of just about any car from 1955 to present. I'm happy to
add that I've passed the passion on to my 10 year old son.
I hope to work my way into a late 70's/early 80's Porsche some
day (I once worked for a small "boutique" Porsche garage in
my teens) and some of the owners and my friends who worked
there had some very heated discussions about horse power
vs. handling. Those truly were the days. Being 18, having
access to a fully equiped shop (including dyno!) and just enough
money to keep your car on the road.
One of my best memories is twice spending allnighters (about 2
years apart) helping my friend rebuild his 66 Chevelle SS 396
and dropping the motor in then spending the rest of the
night/next day cruising to break in the motor.
My first car
1970 Chevelle SS396, dark blue, white interior, no stripes, no vinyl top. 4Spd with
4:10 posi and a 327/365 in it when I got it
in 1976. Car had been run hard and put up wet quite a bit prior to my ownership.
Car I wish I still had
1965 Sunbeam Tiger
My dream car
427 SC/Cobra -or- Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona
Car clubs I’m in

- Yeah, I never actually set out to buy a green Vette - really wanted a blue one but you don't really get a lot of choice on a shoe string budget. But funnily enough, a while after I bought it, I end up meeting the woman of my dreams (fantastic lady) and her favorite color on a car is ... green. Go figure. Later. DKM
