About me and my passion for cars
"I got it honest" as the saying goes. My Daddy was a moonshine runner and has alays had a passion for autos, especially old ones. He passed this appreciation of the design, craftsmanship and engenuity down to me.
I am currently an active duty member of the U.S. Coast Guard. I'm an Electronics Tech and am only a couple of years from retirement. I deploy often so if I don't respond to you quickly please understand that it's probably due to operations or , not that I'm just being a jerk.
I've owned hot rod VWs, lifted Suburbans, a couple of lifted rock crawling Suzuki Samurais, a lifted Geo Tracker, a show truck low rider minivan, a 69 Olds Cutlass, a lifted Ford F-150 and now an Expedition...along with a couple others here and there. I am currently building a custom 1953 Buick Special 2 door. In the future I plan to build my wife a 60's Pony and help my youngest son but a 67-72 Chevy pickup.
My greatest accomplishment is that I talked the most beautiful woman I've ever seen into marrying me. We have 4 incredible children who are all teens now and will soon be out building cars of their own!
My first car
A 1974 Plymouth Valiant 4 door. It was ugly, but it was mine. I learned quickly that the old 318 doesn't fair well when you yank it into first gear at about 70 mph....
Car I wish I still had
1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass, that 350 Rocket would scream!
My dream car
An old, low sled with a lot of horses, kind of like I'm building now. Beyond that I'd love to pick up a 50's Chevy pickup someday.

I long for the day when my kids move out and I can afford to build my garage! It's not that I want them gone, it's just, well, when you have to decide on feeding the kids this year or building a garage to indulge in personal ventures the wife tends to think...
