About me and my passion for cars
I am a "child of the 60's". The 60's were my teenage and young adult years and possibly the best of times anyone could have ever experienced! It was a great time!
The 60's are synonymous with Muscle Cars and rock 'n roll. Hendricks, Joplin, Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Animals, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones...their music blared on our radios as we cruised the strip with our windows rolled down, bumper to bumper for 2 - 3 miles on any Friday or Saturday night. It was the San Leandro strip, E 14th St. from 150th to Washington Blvd.
Chevelles, Mustang Fastbacks, GTO's, 442's, Chargers & Challengers and of course, the Tri-5's all lined the strip in San Leandro, California to cruise back and forth all night, sometimes pulling into merchant parking lots along the strip to congregate and talk and maybe try to score with the chicks in the car next to us...Great fun!
That started my passion for the Muscle Cars of the 60's & 70's and of course having kept my '66 Chevelle SS all these years and watched as they again became popular again, not only as collectibles and investments, but as driver and show cars...well, that only advanced my passion.
And today...being the owner of a fully restored and extremely rare and valuable 60's era Muscle Car only serves to stoke the flames of my passion for the cars of a bygone era...ahhhhh, to be young again!
My first car
...was a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air 4-Door Sedan. Yellow with Green Roof. 6 Cylinder with 3 on the column.
Car I wish I still had
...My dad's 1939 Chevrolet Deluxe. It was a wedding gift from his dad to my dad on his wedding day in 1939. We had that car as a family car until 1955 when he traded it in on a 1955 Ford Victoria.
My dream car
...I own it! But I would like to have a 1999 Plymouth Prowler. I think they will be a high dollar collector's car in the future.
