About SeptemberSally’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
I love Trans Ams and have for many years - used to drive my family nuts pointing out all the TA's on the road. Then one day I was able to order my 1978 black & gold special edition Trans Am (Phantom). Phantom has a 400 engine and a 4-speed and is in pretty good condition. In 1993 I bought War Eagle - a red beauty which now has a Meacham hood and silver and black pin striping and etching on the front and back glass courtesy of my good friend, Pat Whitaker. It has a stock motor and a 6-speed. In 2002 I had to have the final TA - it's a white ram air with 6-speed. And it has a beautiful hand drawn, custom painted, one of a kind free-spirit Eagle on each side with etching on front and back glass and the T-tops again courtesy of my good friend Pat Whitaker. The graphics are purple and gold with orange flames - sounds garish, but it is beautiful. There were plans to add another color at the 2006 TA Nationals, but Pat died, so that graphic is now finished. I love my three cars and enjoy owning them and going to car shows when I have time. I have won awards with all three. My fondest dream is to someday have Phantom painted plus a few other things and take it to the Trans Am Nationals. I missed the Bandit Run last year - maybe this year.
My first car
1965 Mustang convertible - blue with white top. Had hi-po 289 motor with solid lifters and ran really good when tuned - sadly a tune-up only lasted a couple of weeks!
Car I wish I still had
1969 Camaro pace car convertible - white with hugger orange stripes, 396, 4-speed. A really nice car - I got the bug for a new convertible.
My dream car
Cobra or Ferrari or maybe just a new Trans Am!
Car clubs I’m in
