About alwaysakid’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
I've been into cars for as long as I can remember and have attended car shows in at least 10 different states from the Eastern Seaboard to the Rocky Mountains over the past 30 years. I like original antique cars, but have a taste for street rods and customs as well. I like the styling of the 1950s best. I currently own a two-owner 1961 Thunderbird and a modified 1951 Chevy sedan delivery. Past rides of interest have included a 1960 Oldsmobile 88, 1954 Nash Metropolitan, 1958 Mercury Monteclair, 1966 Chevy Nova, 1971 Chevy Caprice and a 1968 Rambler American, not necessarily in that order.
My first car
My first car, a 1973 Datsun 610, was bought more out of practicality and as a political statement than for its styling or performance.
Car I wish I still had
I wish I still had my 1966 Nova, minus the damage a Rochester, NY taxi did to it one day when my wife was driving it. That was back before they knew how to straighten a bent frame.
My dream car
I'll try to keep the list as short as I can. But near the top would be a 1936 or 1937 Cord, 1955 or 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria and a 1957-1960 Studebaker Hawk.

- Cool Sedan Delivery, but kinda partial to the pics of the pontiacs, have any more??

- Jun 5, 2007 at 3:01 pm
- Nice background for the Bird! Love the "Filling the Driveway" also. That little Nash must be around to fill in the small spaces.
There's some rocks similar to that in the area I took the rock pic of mine. I'm a trekkie so had to get a pic where Spock was and other StarTrek episodes.
Keep drivin em!

- Thank you for the kind words on my 49. I enjoy messing around with it. It keeps me out of trouble. I like both of your cars. The panel is sweet. i have a frined with a 48. It is very convenient for traveling and taking into shows as we can pile it full. I also like the Tbird. I've always wanted one!
- Jan 11, 2007 at 12:20 am
- That is a nice 61 t-bird. I think that i like the 65 the best cause of the turn signals in the back are sequential. My original color was diamond blue but im going with wimbolden white cause i like the color better. Are you planning on modifying your bird any?

- As you and I head into the final 24 hours of our "Feature Challenge", I would like to say "Thanks" for accepting my challenge request.
At the time, I had no idea that we would be featured on the main Webpage, and as the main part of the January Newsletter!
There are not too many "restored-to-original" classics like ours on this site, and I thought it would be fun to see how other members felt about our vehicles.
Like you, my wife and I look for reasons to take "The Pontiac" out for a drive on a warm summer afternoon.
And so, I would like to wish you good luck in this and all future Challenges that you may
be involved in.

That First Car
Jul 7, 2008
A lot of people treasure their first car. And some are lucky enough to still own it. But not me. Don't get me wrong, the 1973 Datsun 610 hardtop coupe was a pretty cool car....
