About alwaysakid’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
I've been into cars for as long as I can remember and have attended car shows in at least 10 different states from the Eastern Seaboard to the Rocky Mountains over the past 30 years. I like original antique cars, but have a taste for street rods and customs as well. I like the styling of the 1950s best. I currently own a two-owner 1961 Thunderbird, a 1950 Studebaker, and a modified 1951 Chevy sedan delivery that will soon belong to my son. Past rides of interest have included a 1960 Oldsmobile 88, 1954 Nash Metropolitan, 1958 Mercury Monteclair, 1966 Chevy Nova, 1971 Chevy Caprice and a 1968 Rambler American, not necessarily in that order.
My first car
My first car, a 1973 Datsun 610, was bought more out of practicality and as a political statement than for its styling or performance.
Car I wish I still had
I wish I still had my 1966 Nova, minus the damage a Rochester, NY taxi did to it one day when my wife was driving it. That was back before they knew how to straighten a bent frame.
My dream car
I'll try to keep the list as short as I can. But near the top would be a 1936 or 1937 Cord, 1955 or 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria and a 1957-1960 Studebaker Hawk.

Missouri, United States
The Great Plains Streetrodders are all about cruising, but they definitely like to eat as well. This club gathers every Wednesday, often at area restaurants, and sometimes members kid each other that they are an eating club as much as they are a car club. When they aren't meeting at...

Remember the transistor radios that were so popular back in the 1960s? Everyone had to have one to listen to their favorite radio stations. And you could hang it from almost...

Filed under: 1950 Studebaker Champion (FozzieMobile)
In April of this year, during a brief moment when it wasn't snowing or raining, I took the 1950 Studebaker for a ride to Fridley, MN, where I watched a steam train go by. The...
