About me and my passion for cars
I've been a gear head all my life, my dad was a hot rodder in the days when rodders built their cars from parts they scrounged in the junkyard. Dad's last rod was a 47 Ford Business coupe with a 53 Cadillac engine. I now have a little 2004 Ford F-150 regular cab short wheelbase pickup with the 5.4 Triton V-8. My other passion is motorcycle and today I own a 2003 Harley Road Glide which I have raced the past two years on Bonneville.
I am an Amsoil dealer because I realized years ago that the oil you use has a great deal to do with the performance of an engine.I discovered that simply by changing my motorcycle's oil from petroleum lube to synthetic oil I could gain 2 free horsepower. I verified this on a dyno and became an Amsoil dealer on the spot. My engine temps went down 20 degree and I could easily feel the difference in the way the bike ran. My truck uses Amsoil Series 2000 0W/30 Synthetic Motor OIl and is only changed once a year. I use Amsoil Ea Air Filters and Ea Oil filters which are the best filters on the market today. The Air Filter willl last 100,000 miles and can be cleaned with 10 to 15 pounds of shop air while the oil filter is good for 25,000 miles.
I love all types of motor sports and am a big fan of street rods. Since I live in Louisville Ky I get to see the latest and greatest street rods each year when the National Street Rod Association hold their National Event here in Louisville.
I am interested in assisting any members of this group with any lubrication questions they may have. If I don't already have the answer I will research it with the other members of my Amsoil group and provide the answer in a timely manner. I look forward to hearing from anyone who wants more info about lubrication and filtration topics.
My first car
My first car was a 1948 Mercury Coupe. It had glass pack mufflers and dual exhaust. In the time I had it I learned about replacing Ford transmission with closed drivelines and just how easy it was to break the cluster gears. I spray bombed it with red oxide primer and had a blast driving it to school.
Car I wish I still had
1967 GTO, 400 Cubic inch, 335 HP, automatic. I used to drag race it every weekend.
My dream car
1940 LaSalle Model 52 Convertible not a stocker but something with a big block, 500 inch Caddy maybe?, stock look in black with a dark brown interior.
