About me and my passion for cars

My passion for cars started in 1984 when my father retired from the military, He went to work as a bodyman at a local respected body shop. Every Saturday morning, I would go to work with him and help by sanding down body panels and taping cars up before they were sprayed. We'd always finished up about noon, and then if there was a car show nearby, we'd grab a bite to eat and head out for that. I earned a great respect for good bodywork and good paintjob. And also learned how to spot shoddy work as well.

My passion for cars endures today, as I am very particular about the finish of my two vehicles today. I tend to spend almost a full day detailing a vehicle once I start on it. I'll correct one flaw, then see another, and so on, and so on. My Buick, which will be posted up here shortly, isn't near up to Concours standard, but I like it that way. At almost 140.000 miles, she still runs like a champ and still has the get up and go when you throw the hammer down.

My first car

My first car was a '78 Olds Omega that my Dad bought for $400 for me as a 16th birthday gift. We spent ever saturday for the next 6 months at his body shop working on the body so we could refinish it. I still wish I had it.

Car I wish I still had

1994 Jeep Cherokee Country. It was such an easy vehicle to maintain. Wide-open engine compartment that one could seemingly fit a big block 350 in!

My dream car

2004 Ferrari 360 Modena Spyder. Classical, elegant and timeless lines. This car will still be beautiful 30 years from now.
