About me and my passion for cars
it started when i was about 5 years old, hanging out in my dads garage and helping him work on cars. my dad has always had a hot rod, or muscle car of some sort. i got my first car when i was 14, which was a 73 chevelle that i bought for $65.00. it had no motor, no trans. no interior, and needed body work. i put in a 400 out of an impala, with an automatic trans. and an interior out of a wrecked 73 chevelle. i stripped the paint off the body, and fixed what little rust there was. i sprayed the car with gray primer, and left it that way..it never got a paint job. i did all the work myself, and i was 14 years old. the car was finished when i was 15 (yeah, i drove it even tho i didn't have a license yet).
from then until now i have owned a little of everything as far as cars go over the years. i had 68 nova, a 70 nova, and a 71 chevelle which were all drag cars...built by me when i was in high school. i built the motors and the cars in my mom and dads garage. after the drag cars, i decided to go a different direction with a 48 chevy sedan street rod once i got married. i also had a 55 ford panel truck, a 73 jeep cj 5 with a small block chevy engine in it, a slew of winter beater cars, and daily driven beaters.
today, i have a hot rodded 55 pontiac. alot of people wonder why i have it because they say that i look younger than i am. alot of people always say that i should be driving a chevelle, or a camaro...not a 55 pontiac. but for me, it's just cool.
i am also into custom and antique motorcycles, and i own a 1966 triumph bonneville that i got when i was about 12 years old. me and this bike have been through alot together, and i did all the work on it myself except for the paint. it has chopped fenders, drag bars, drag pipes, and custom paint.
my wife and i moved to bloomington in april of 2000 from wisconsin. we have 3 kids, erin (14) wyatt(10) and jackson(7).
our son wyatt has special needs (williams syndrome / autism) and he requires alot of attention. we don't get to make to out to alot of car shows, but we try.
i also build model cars and motorcycles for a hobby. nothing i build is right out of the box, i customize every model that i build.
to me, it's all about hot rodding the cars, and customizing them...i really don't care for many cars that are stock.

- You've got more proof that the '55 Pontiac was a nice looking car. I've got a picture of one in my "Automania" photo album with a different two-tone scheme that might interest you. Check it out in my garage.
