- well, I found a shop that can replace engines, so the stang is staying with me. I'm gonna give them a call and see what they can do to save my t-top... most likely a rebuild right now...

- Well no joke. I ran my mustang for 2 years with a 150 shot every weekend with no probs. One night I got cocky and pilled it up to a 225 and blew it on the 1st pass.
If I where you i would stick with a 100-125 shot. ou will be happy with that.

- You dont want to port and polish the stock heads on an it. If they are the stock heads then you have E6 heads and they are crap. You will want a set of E7 heads (88-93 mustang heads) then do your porting and polishing on them. But with the E7 heads on the older block you cant run a cam. There are no valve reliefs in the pistons for them heads. A cam will make the valve hit the piston. Im going to change the pistons when I do the GT40-P heads on my car.

- I welded mine. I dont want leaks but a friend of mine clamps his and thats the only way he will do it. Like mine any time I have to work on the trans I have to cut and reweld. All he does is losin clamps and there he goes. I would also get rid of the stock mufflers but again thats me. I love the flow sound. Next for me is a set of GT40-P heads and roller rockers.

- I was lucky the guy i bought the car from had a new 8.8 installed which cost around $2000 with labour but i'm sure you can find a used one for way less. All 5.0S from 1986-93 came from factory with 8.8 so there should be lots of used ones around. Some early 1980s cougars also had the 8.8.
- Nov 17, 2006 at 9:16 am
- Switching from a 7.5 to a 8.8 rear end doesn't need any mods and you can keep the 10 hole rims like i did. It's a straight swap.I highly recommend that you make the change because the 7.5 is the weakest part of your drivetrain. If you want to mod your car and drive it hard make the swap a priority. The 8.8 is about 40% stronger and will handle more HP and tourque. If you don't push your stang too hard your 7.5 is ok.Don't waste your money on any other mods until you switch to a 8.8 or you'll be towing your car home.

- Thanks for the compliment.Yes it's the original color(oxford white)but it was black below the side moldings and had the black GT decal on the hood.It just had it's first paint job in 21 years and i thought the racing stripes would add a nice touch.Your 85 looks mint, what kind of mileage you got on her.
- Nov 12, 2006 at 10:46 pm
- nice looking fox dude
- Nov 10, 2006 at 7:26 am
- Your 85 is sweet looking. Is that the original color.
- Nov 8, 2006 at 11:38 pm
- Thanks for the compliments... And yeah, my dad was a car guy back in the day, and once I got a Mustang, it was only a matter of time until I talked him into the Bullitt.
