About camaro1093ac’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
It all started somewhere about age 15-16 when I got a part time job working in a chevy parts dept.nights with my dad. He had a 57 chevy at the time as did my grandfather so it was in my blood I guess.
Working in the parts dept.was a real eye opener, guys would come in and blow their whole pay check on speed parts,409`s 427`s were going into some nice old cars even 57 chevy`s. The customers would bring their cars in to show them off when they were done.Shirley Muldowney Cha Cha had her Corvette at the time and some of her family lived acrossed the street from us,she used to come in for parts also.
The car dealership was on the corner of a major intersection in the city and friday nights were awesome as all kinds of cars would race from the traffic light.I remember we had a ladder going to the roof of the used car building ,it was a nice flat roof ,perfect for watching the intersection.
I wish I had all the old chevy`s now that I had back then but who knew they would be worth so much now.My first new car was a 69Z28 ,I wanted a 70 MonteCarlo 454 but the dumb ins.co. said the hp had to be under 300hp so they let me buy the camaro.LOL
I guess I`ve been a car nut most of my life.
My first car
a 1957 2dr sedan,283 ,3spd stick
Car I wish I still had
my new 1969 Z28 bought it right off the showroom floor $3200 maroon with with stripes. It ran 14:05stock and a best of 12:98
My dream car
the above 69z28
