About me and my passion for cars

Was passionate about cars when a teenager and until I got married and me and the wife started the Brady Bunch. During those years it was mini vans and econo cars, not any fun at all, the cars that is, the kids and the memories of them growing up, great.

Hit the mid century mark of life and decided it was time to have fun again, kids grown and on their own, just me and the old lady.

Thought carefully about it, and looked at costs, and came up with pickup truck from the muscle car era. Found the Beast on Craigslist for $900, test drove it, bought it, and have been having fun with it since. Does a good job of hauling the food donations we pickup at 4 stores every other Saturday for the Tualatin Valley Gleaners of the Oregon Food Bank. Practical (except for gas milage, but who cares, right) Nice enough looking to get into car shows and car clubs, and get "nice truck" comments on cruise nights, and parts are everywhere. Win, Win situation, but the wife still hates it, so we're looking at adding a classic Mustang to the ranch.

My first car

A 1974 Austin Marina. My Dad just did not get the fact that a 16 year old wanted a muscle car, not a gas saver. Oh well, still a nice birthday present. It was orange with black racing strips, apparently really a cool car in England.

Car I wish I still had

1969 Olds 442, young and dumb equals wreaked classic muscle car, or yeah add the fact 21 and a college student, party on back then.
