About me and my passion for cars

Always had a passion for cars. I came from an Oldsmobile family. Driver's Ed was a 1975 LTD Station wagon. My first car was my dad's 1969 Toronado (totalled into a telephone poll by my sister), then his 1971 Toronado ( totalled by a drunk driver while it was parked in the street). After that I owned a 1973 Pontiac Grand Am (fantastic car-should have kept it ), 1978 Olds Delta 88 Royale 2 dr coupe (inherited from mom after she past away), 1981 Mercury Capri (what a joke), 1981 Olds Toronado Diesel ( BIG MISTAKE), 1975 Cutlass Supreme ( good car, a little rust here and there), 1983 T-Bird Heritage Edition ( another good car- a pleasure to drive on the highway), 1990 Mercury Topaz (another big mistake but I inherited this car, too & with only 2000 miles), 1993 Pontiac Sunbird 2 dr coupe ( a fun car ), and now a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire 4 dr sedan. I held on to most of these cars well past 100K miles, until an opportunity came along to inherit a car or buy something else with lower mileage. The only new car I've ever owned-so far- is the 1999 Sunfire.

I purchased my 1979 Firebird Formula in 2004 with just slightly over 118K. I only had to do mechanical work, refurbish the rims and redo some of the decals. The paint is 99% original
(the front and rear bumpers, and a small area on the hood were repainted in 2003). This Firebird has a 403 6.6 V-8 & is the original engine (California) as is the interior (the car was garage kept most of it's life and still is a garaged car).
